I needed to get my taxes done while in the middle of selling my home, taking care of elder father and many other activities, so I tried a locally based company here in Merritt Island, FL. Upon my visit to the tax guy (John Rossi) he was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I took the taxes on April 1st 2015. I went back on April 21st and he was on the phone (a help line servicing Turbo Tax users). He asked me to come in and have a seat as if my taxes were ready. I proceeded to wait for a hour while he helped other phone customers. I finally left. I came back on April 25th and his wife asked me to come in and wait. I thought since she was there something would get done. Soon she also got on some phone support line while John Rossi again was on the other support phone. I waited again for an hour then left. By now I figured my taxes were done and electronically filed so I waited a month til after tax season was over and went back (May 10th). I heard them inside but and looking out of the window but they refused to answer the door. I went home and started contacting attorneys regarding how I might get my tax records (all banking, IRA, investment, Real Estate, Retirement, Social Security statements, forms, numbers, IDs ...everything that I care about most he had). Lawyer advised to go back again and document the times and days and the outcome. Still they refused to answer the door (May 20th). Finally after many trips, I stood outside their door, banged on it and advised them I had an attorney. They finally opened the door on July 21st and handed me a folder with an incomplete tax return, only copies of my financial records and told me my taxes were never filed. I had to go straight home, cancel all my credit cards, change my banks and investment account numbers, sign up for Life Lock to monitor all my accounts and have H&R Block redo my taxes, filing 3 months late! NEVER AGAIN
